Stitch Custom Furnishings teams up with Kristina Wolf Design to provide design products and services that support Rooms That Rock 4 Chemo pro bono projects in San Francisco.

Stitch donates custom window covering to interior design project that creates soothing environments for patients receiving chemotherapy.

San Francisco, CA October 4, 2011:  Rachael Brune of Stitch Custom Furnishings in San Francisco, CA, knows what a difference a soothing environment can have on one’s state of mind. When she heard about the newly formed not-for-profit Rooms The Rock 4 Chemo from Stitch client Kristina Wolf of Kristina Wolf Design, she knew right away this was a project she wanted to participate in. Rachael’s motivation for participating was the knowledge that medical treatment rooms can be cold and clinical and, that any support patients can receive in making a difficult experience less so, is a good thing.  Stitch stepped in with a hand sewn, tailored roman shade that enhanced the design components of Kristina’s warm and comforting room design.

Because Stitch creates custom window coverings and uses fabrics and fixtures that hold up to daily use, an even more important feature in a commercial setting, that would be a key element in the selection of fabric and hardware for the window covering. Kristina’s beautifully serene room, with walls in a soothing blue with Koi swimming by, inspired the selection of a sea glass colored linen fabric for the shade.

About Stitch Custom Furnishings

San Francisco based Stitch Custom Furnishings was started by Rachael Brune out of her love for fabrics. With a keen eye for design from a successful career as a graphic designer, as well as a Bay Area homebuilder and homeowner several times over, she found an absence in the marketplace of quality window coverings and high end finishes available to homeowners outside the realm of architects and interior designers.  Often the options came down to outdated curtain styles, cheap catalog solutions, mini blinds or shutters.

Established in 2002, Stitch provides the sophisticated homeowner with the quality and style of home furnishings seen in interior design magazines.

Stitch works with interior design firms and homeowners throughout the San Francisco Bay Area offering them showroom quality window treatments, soft furnishings, custom furniture and upholstery, hardware and small construction services.

Stitch’s work has been seen in Martha Stewart Living, California Home and Design, Domino Magazine, Domino -The Book of Decorating and The 2011 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
